I had a small obsession with tall grass when I was a child. If I happened to walk by a patch of it, no matter how small, I would have to lay down in it and look at the sky. To this day I am grateful that I never once put my head on dog do or any other gross surprises. A big thanks to my dearest mother who, no matter how much of a rush we were in, always let me play out this little fantasy.
This painting is an approximation of the deep feeling of bliss and serenity after which I was chasing all those years.
